19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018

Kohima Eagles FC, Centurion FC enter quarter final

Centurion FC and Kohima Eagles FC today entered quarter finals of the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 here under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union.  

Centurion FC defeated Rangers FC Medziphema 1-0. Both the team displayed equal strength in the first match which was put on hold for several minutes due to unfavorable weather condition at the beginning of the second-half.  

Later, making a break-through in the 62nd minute of the play, Rabindra Meitei of Centurion FC scored the winning goal, thus paving his team’s way to the quarter-finals.  

Maldar Patgiri, Medoneituo Sekhose, Imlongchaba, Vekhruto Resü of Centurion FC and Rufous, Yavi of Rangers FC Medziphema were cautioned with yellow cards.  

Meanwhile Kohima Eagles overpowered St.Joseph's College Jakhama 2-0. Kethosilie Zatsu brilliantly converted the first goal for Kohima Eagles through a header in the 7th minute.

  The second goal for Kohima Eagles came from the boot of Mengüzelie Rutsa in the 17th minute.  

Kechi Kulimbe, Mengüzelie Rütsa of Kohima Eagles and Shamlau of SJC were penalised with yellow cards.  

Kohima Eagles will clash with Centurion FC on October 16 at 12:00 noon.
