1st All Nagaland Village Council Chairmen conference held in Wokha
Village Council Chairmen along with DC, Project Director DRDA Wokha and Chairman, Lotha Hoho after the 1st Conference of ANVCC which was held on November 27 in Wokha.
Wokha, November 27 (MExN): The 1st conference of All Nagaland Village Council Chairmen (ANVCC) was held on November 27 in Wokha district. Hosted by Wokha District Village Council Chairmen Association, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha, Orenthung Lotha (NCS) was the special guest.
Speaking at the event, Lotha informed that village chairman is the first citizen in the village, while in the district, the DC is the first citizen to which he himself addressed the gathering to be responsible accordingly.
While everyone may have political right, he reminded all the village chairmen not be carried away or hampered by political interest in terms of village development and upliftment of the society.
The DC called upon all chairmen to remain vigil and to remain updated with the current advancement and development. Thought not everyone could cope with advanced technology, he urged them to remain smart as being the head and icon of the village.
He further urged upon all chairmen and village council members to dedicate and focus on development as the system had changed, and to use the power and authority with true wisdom.
To update with the new era, he called the village development fund to be used in social progress. He further encouraged the village administration and development board that if it has achieved government plans, he urged them to target individuals who are in need. He held that social development comes through when the individuals start to generate and contribute towards the society.
Project director DRDA Wokha, Thungdeno Mozhui, the chief host in her exhortation appreciated the effort of conducting the historical event despite of short notice from commissioner due to Naga political development.
Ahe called for unity in taking up the challenge stating that everything starts small but for the greater interest, she called for unity.
She informed all village chairmen to execute their assigned duties as being chosen by God for being elected and represent the people.
She further advocated conducting more seminars for the village members.
Lotha Hoho chairman Mhondamo Ovung in his short exhortation likened the village chairmen being the backbone of society, the main pillar which needs to be addressed on a serious note.
He informed all to instill dignity of labor and cultivate work culture in the society.
He further urged the village chairmen to strengthen the education system in the village as well as to executed their duties responsibly and provide right judgment.
Earlier, invocation of monolith was done by Rev Thugrio Khuvung, Wokha Town Baptist Church, and the chief guest unveiled the monolith.
