1st Kohima Inter Badminton Club Tournament concludes

The 1st edition of the Kohima Inter Badminton Club Tournament, organized by the Kohima District Badminton Association (KDBA), concluded today at the Indoor Stadium, Officers’ Hill (Thegabakha).

In the Men’s Open Doubles category, Imnatoshi Longkumer and Nika A Chishi of Crescent Club emerged as champions, defeating the runners-up Vikuozo Pienyu and Thejakhriezo Innocent Keyho of Pfüchatsumia.

The 75+ Men’s Doubles saw Kesonyu Yhome and T Yabang Longkumer of Capital Shuttlers claim victory, while Imliwapang Tzudir and Imlitemsu Kichu, also from Capital Shuttlers finished as runners-up. In the 85+ Men’s Doubles category, Akum and Aomolong, representing Capital Shuttlers, won, with Kezhalezo Solo and Beizo Solo from the same club as the runners-up.

In the 95+ Men’s Doubles, Arep Ao and Beizo Solo of Capital Shuttlers secured the top spot, while Kekhrie Ziephru and Vipulhou Lhoungu of No Mercy Club were the runners-up.

The 105+ Men’s Doubles category saw Arep Ao and Wati Jamir from Capital Shuttlers claim victory, with Kreho Athili and Ketoulhou Metha of Sunrise Club finishing second.

In the Women’s Doubles, the pair of Debahuti Lahon and Neikethuno Vakha from Dawn Club won, with Uma Tamang and Neibano Kielienyü, also from Dawn Club, securing the runners-up position.

The closing ceremony was graced by Teiso Metha, SP Kohima, who presented prizes to the winners. The event was chaired by KDBA Information & Publicity Secretary Menguzelie Suohu, and the vote of thanks was delivered by KDBA Joint Secretary Yanpothung Lotha.
