
Dimapur, January 24 (MExN): Peren continued their winning streak in the 1st Late G Rio Memorial U-19 (Boys) inter-district tournament on the third day of the Group B matches.
According to an update from the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), the first match on Day 3 was played between Mon and Peren.
Mon won the toss and elected to bat first. They were bowled out for 58 in 16.4 overs with Rakesh and Altab making 19 runs and 13 runs respectively. Ranjen and Roko Nyekha took 3 wickets each while Pouring took 2 wickets and Haichuanei Newme took a wicket.
In the second innings, Peren cruised to a comfortable target chase in 10.2 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Roko Nyekha and Parbez scored 21 and 17 runs respectively for Peren who won by 9 wickets.
With this win against Mon, Peren registered their third win to top the Group B table and qualify for the finals where they will be facing Group A table topper Dimapur. In the second match of the day, Zunheboto defeated Wokha by 6 wickets. Winning the toss, Wokha elected to bat first and amassed 82 runs in 19.4 overs.
Mhao Tsanglao scored 27 runs and Lichumthung Patton made 13 runs for Wokha.
Aloto Sumi took 4 wickets while Kito Zhimo took 2 wickets and Hito Assumi, Alopu Aye and Niti Chophi claimed a wicket each. In the second innings, Abhishek scored 30 runs while Nighato Yeptho scored 13 runs with Randanbemo Odyuo claiming 2 wicket and, Thungchio Humtsoe and Noyingthung Kikon claiming a wicket each.
The final match of the tournament will be played between Peren and Dimapur on January 26 at 9:00 am.
