DGC, PCC, SJJ & Tetso emerge as top contenders

The second day of the 1st Patkai Trophy on March 31 witnessed fierce contest among the 16 participating institutions, even as some teams emerged as top contenders to be the overall champions. 

Among those are the host Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), St Joseph University (SJU), Tetso College and Dimapur Government College (DGC) with either their men’s or women’s team featuring Day-III fixtures on April 1. (See fixtures)

The trophy now has reached the semi-final stage for volleyball and football while only the final match is left for basketball.

In the first men’s basketball semi-final on Friday, PCC book a place in the final after narrowly edging out the National Institute of Technology Nagaland 29-25.

In the second semi-final, SJU scored a thumping 67-21 victory over ICFAI University.   

Meanwhile, in the women’s basketball final, Tetso will play against the host PCC.
