PFUTSERO, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): In a collaborative effort between the Deputy Commissioner of Phek and the Nagaland Sports Association, a two-day free football camp cum exhibition match was organized at the Pfutsero Sports Complex Ground on September 11 and 12.

Nchumbemo, NCS, ADC Pfutsero, delivered the keynote address, expressing his gratitude to the Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland and the District Electoral Officer of Phek for choosing Pfutsero HQ as the venue for this significant event. The primary goal of the initiative was to promote voter awareness and registration among the youth population through the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.

He emphasized that SVEEP is a flagship program of the Election Commission of India, which operates throughout the year, even outside of election periods. Nchumbemo NCS encouraged all participants to take this opportunity seriously, as it offered free coaching from qualified coaches affiliated with the Nagaland Sports Association. These coaches aimed to impart football skills and knowledge, as well as instill discipline among the youth.

State SVEEP Icon, Keneinguze Immanuel Pienyü, a prominent football player, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significant role that youths play in shaping society's future. He stressed that the decisions made by young people are instrumental in determining the course of the future. Keneinguze also emphasized the responsibility of young individuals to exercise their right to vote and urged those who had not yet registered to do so. He further noted that a common platform could connect young people and amplify the message that every youth's vote is valuable.

The programME was chaired by Phachulo, AEO, Phek, and featured a special song performance by Kum Naomi Vese, Campus Ambassador from GHSS Phek. The event concluded with a blessing from Rev Dr Kezhopoyi Tunyi, Pastor of CMCC.
