2 fire incidents in Kohima, Jalukie

Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): Two fire incidents were reported in Kohima and Jalukie districts on April 5 and 6 respectively.

According to a press release from the RO (E), Fire and Emergency Services, a team led by Duty Commander ASI Neikielie Keyiencu from the Jalukie Fire Station responded to a fire call on April 6 at Heningkunlwa Village, Jalukie. One Katcha house along with house hold items worth approximately Rs 4.5 lakh were gutted in the fire which was suspected to be caused by a kitchen fire. 

Another press release from the HQ IGAR (N) also informed that troops from the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles assisted in dousing the fire.

In another incident on April 5, a team from Fire Station Kohima (South) responded to a fire call at Lerie Colony. The release stated that the fire was caused by a leakage in an LPG cylinder while adding that “Timely intervention of Fire personnel averted a major tragedy.”

The response team was led by Duty Commander SI Keyirangsobe and ASI Wangkin, it added.
