
Dimapur, May 2 (MExN): A total of 216 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Nagaland on Sunday, pushing the number of active cases to 1,529.
According to updates from the health department, the positive cases were out of the 541 samples that were tested, indicating a positivity rate 39.9 per cent. Dimapur accounted for 104 of the new cases, Kohima- 95, Mon- 11, Mokokchung- 4, and Longleng- 2.
As per the updates, two more deaths were reported on Sunday taking the tally of COVID-19 fatalities to 99. This excludes 10 other deaths that were declared as ‘not COVID related’ after scrutiny by the state COVID-19 death review committee.
On the other hand, 27 patients—23 from Dimapur and 2 each from Kohima and Mokokchung, who were previously infected by the virus, have recovered.
The cumulative tally of COVID-19 infections in the state now stands at 14,350 out of which 12,295 have recovered.
