DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 8 (MExN): Scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming Nagaland Assembly Election was carried out across the state today.
A press note from the Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer informed that out of 257 candidates who filed nomination papers against 60 Assembly Constituencies, 227candidates were found valid, 29 invalid while one candidate’s scrutiny under 33- Suruhoto is adjourned to February 10.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is February 12, 3:00pm. Polling for the 60 seats will take place on February 27 and votes will be counted on March 3.
