Lungdon FC defeats Genesis FC Tsg 2-1, United Tsg draws with Mt. Pongen
Tuensang, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): Lungdon FC defeated Genesis FC Tsg 2-1 Saturday at the 25th Loyem Memorial Senior Soccer Open Championship (LMSSOC), which is underway in Tuensang.
Lungdon was stunned by a first minute goal but quickly recovered to fire home the equalizer. The first goal was scored by Lesipi followed by Tongpang scoring the equalizer for Lungdon FC in the 15th minute. The celebration for Genesis was but shortlived as Lungdon’s Longkhoi broke the deadlock in the 21st minute.
The other match of the day between United Tsg Tornados and Mt. Pongen FC was marred by rain. Despite, the match continued to end in a tame 1-1 draw with both goals coming in quick succession.
United Tsg were the first to score with Therie finding the back of the net in the 28th minute. Mt. Pongen countered with lethal precision to equalize the next minute through Toso.
The ongoing 25th LMSSOC under the theme, ‘Exposing the values of game’ is being organized by the Confederation of Chang Students Union (CCSU).The champion will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh along with trophy, medals and certificates. The runners-up will pocket Rs 1.5 lakh along with medals and certificates. The semi finalists will be awarded Rs 25, 000 each. Individual cash prizes of Rs.15,000 each will be awarded for Golden Boot, Golden Glove and Golden Ball.
