Wokha, December 27 (MExN): Imperials and Maveric (A) registered wins at the ongoing 25th Winter Cricket Challenge at Wokha local ground on December 26.
In the first match, Imperial won the toss and elected to bat first putting up a target of 197 runs against Hoodlum & Saints.
Rendemo Mozhui scored 107 runs while Mhonbemo Ezung claimed three wickets. Hoodlum & Saints came up 63 runs short of the target to lose the match.
Meanwhile Maveric (A) locked horns with Sesame Jinx Club in the second match of the day.
The toss was won by Maveric (A) who decided to bat first and scored 154 runs in the 20 overs losing five wickets.
Nchumthung Ngullie, 52 runs and Elithung Murry, 40 runs were the main contributors in the second match for Maveric (A).
Sesame Jinx Club came up 10 runs short of the target in their innings. Penthungo Ngullie 33 runs and Khamongo Humtsoe 32 runs could not help the team to register a win in their first group league match.
Nchumthung Ngullie of Maveric (A) bagged the man of the match award which was handed over by Thungjanbemo T Humtsoe, Junior Engineer.
