25th Winter Cricket Challenge: Sesame Jinx, Imperials qualify in quarter final

Wokha, January 9 (MExN): Sesame Jinx and Imperials registered wins on Saturday and qualified in the quarter final of the ongoing 25th edition of Winter Cricket Challenge (WCC) at local ground, Wokha.

In the first match, Sesame Jinx won the toss against Street Boys and elected to bat.

T Penthungo Lotha of Sesame Jinx displayed an immaculate batting performance, scoring 44 runs in 49 balls. Shibu Thakuri also scored 22 runs in 24 balls. In 20 overs, Sesame Jinx amassed 134 runs.

However, Street Boys failed to chase the target and lost by 65 runs.

Shibu Thakuri also claimed 3 wickets and was named the man of the match.

In the second match of the day, Imperials won the toss against Athletic Brothers Club (ABC) and elected to bat first. With 8.8 RPO, Imperials set a target of 176 runs in 20 overs. 

ABC were unsuccessful in their run chase and lost the match by 65 runs in 19.2 overs.

Abemo Kikon (Not Out) who scored 67 runs in 61 balls was named man of the match in the second match. The award was handed over by Chopathung Kithan, Engineer Generation, Likimro Hydro project.
