DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 21 (MExN): Chekiye Village hosted the 2nd Autumn Amateur Badminton Tournament, organized by the Resilient Shuttlers, in honor of the late Vilazu Khro and late Atoka Tsuqu. The tournament took place at the Achiku Badminton Stadium and featured two categories: Men’s Doubles (Amateur) and Veterans 40+.
The event attracted 39 teams from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Jalukie, and Medziphema. It began with a prayer and a memorial service to remember the two brothers who were active members of the Resilient Shuttlers.
In both categories, the champions received Rs 12,000, the runners-up Rs 8,000, and semi-finalists Rs 2,000 each. The tournament was a heartfelt tribute, fostering unity and sportsmanship among the participating teams.
