Kohima, September 1 (MExN): The 78 Battalion CRPF, Sechu-Zubza, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), will organise a series of sporting events under “SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nations” in Nagaland.
The events aim to promote peace, harmony, inclusiveness and community participation through sports. A 10-km Zubza Marathon will be held on September 5 at Sechu-Zubza, Kohima, from 6:30 am. The event is open to men and women aged 18 years and above.
A women’s volleyball tournament will also be held from September 7 to 10 at B/78 Battalion CRPF, Dimapur. Women aged 18 years and above are eligible to participate. The organisers said prizes will be awarded in both events, with the first, second and third prize winners receiving Rs 10,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively. Certificates will also be given to the winners. T-shirts and refreshments will be provided to all participants, the organisers said.
