Kohima, August 8 (MExN): The Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) today announced that the 2nd Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) will take place at Pfutsero in Phek district on November 11.
It will be managed by Lasumi Baptist Church.
This 2nd edition of the championship will coincide with Khunye festival of Porba village and Peace run (mini marathon race) of Kalos Society of Pfutsero Town.
Prominent wrestlers including 1st Chakhesang Open Naga Wrestling Champion, Kezhavizo Thevo, NWA reigning Champion, Venuzo Dawhuo and others will vie for the coveted title.
Wrestlers from Karnataka, Delhi, Jharkhand and Manipur are expected to participate, according to CWA press secretary Kukhoto Venyo.
The champion will receive Rs 2 lakh while the second, third and fourth position winners will get Rs 1 lakh, Rs 70,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Losing quarter finalists will receive Rs 10,000 each.
