Dimapur, December 12 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles recovered arms and ammunition from a house at Tenyiphe-I under Dimapur district on December 12 during a search operation conducted along with a police representative. According to a press release from Assam Rifles, one .22 mm pistol with magazine and one 9 mm revolver along with 8 rounds live ammunition were recovered. The suspect Aso Yimchunger, who was staying on rent in the house, was found absconding, it stated. The recoveries were handed over to Chumukedima Police Station.
In a separate incident, 32 AR conducted an operation in D-Khel, Diphupar along with police representative on December 12. A total of 55 live assorted rounds, one misfired round, and one fired cartridge case and Tax Collection letter of NSCN (IM) and other “incriminating documents” were recovered from a house, AR informed in another release. An identity card of Apong Tangkhul, Tatar NSCN (IM), aged 39, was also recovered, it said, adding the recovered items were handed over to Diphupar Police Station.
