Mon, January 8 (MExN): Commander of 7 Sector Assam Rifles today flagged off a National Integration tour, where 22 students along with two teachers from various villages of Mon district are taking part. The tour will be held from January 8 to 11, wherein the students will visit various prominent places in Guwahati and Shillong.
A press release received here stated that the participants were presented with track suits, T shirts, caps, shoes, duffle bags and information booklet for the purpose of the tour. They were also briefed about the tour itinerary and the safety aspects during the journey. The flag off ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries, family members of the participants, civil administration officials and NGOs.
The tour would include visits to zoo, planetarium, GS Road, Shillong Peak, Elephant falls, Wards Lake and Don Bosco Museum. The tour would also be an eye opener for the children of Nagaland as they will witness the development that is taking place in other parts of country, the note stated.
