338 new COVID-19 cases in Nagaland

State records 9 more deaths in 24 hours, takes tally to 154 

Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): At least 338 more cases were detected in Nagaland on May 12, adding to the State’s total caseload of 3297 active cases.

As per an update from the State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom, out of the total cases detected on Wednesday, 184 were in Dimapur while 87 were in Kohima, 18 in Tuensang, 15 in Mon, 9 in Mokokchung and 6 each in Longleng, Phek and Kiphire, 3 in Zunheboto while Wokha and Peren had 2 cases each.

Traced contacts accounted for 113 of the new cases while 23 were armed forces/security personnel and 9 were returnees.  2 out of the new cases on Wednesday were frontline workers while 191 cases were categorized as ‘Others (self test, random test)’.Meanwhile, 98 patients also recovered from the infection on Wednesday. 

With this, the total number of positive cases in Nagaland increased to 16,890 while total recovery was 12,877. The COVID-19 death toll in the State also increased from 145 to 154 while 11 other deaths have been categorized as ‘not COVID related’.
