TUENSANG, AUGUST 6 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer cum District Food Safety Officer of Tuensang, Dr T Pangjung Sangtam along with the Administrative Officers and Police conducted inspection of major bakeries in Tuensang town on August 6.
A press note from the CMO, Tuensang informed that the kitchens and bakeries at Onima Bakery, Maa Kali Bakery, Tuensang Bakery and Delu Bakery were not up to satisfaction, as far as hygiene and cleanliness of the staff and environment is concerned. The CMO further stated that they detected usage of expired food ingredients and preservatives, which were seized. Further it was informed that the establishments lacked adequate supply of clean water.
Following the inspection, the bakery owners were issued with immediate improvement notices. All seized items were confiscated and disposed off. The inspections will continue and will be ongoing, the CMO added.
