DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25 (MExN): The Nagaland State Government has notified 4% reservation in government jobs for persons with benchmark disabilities with immediate effect. This was done towards the implementation of Section 34 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. “Identification of jobs for the various disability categories will be carried out by the departments and reviewed by an Expert Committee in compliance with Section 33 (ii) of the Act,” informed a press release from the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Diethono Nakhro. The Nagaland State Government notified the Nagaland Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2016 as per the provisions laid down in Section 101 (1) of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016. The State Disability Rules was approved by the State Cabinet and notified on August 16.
