Dimapur, January 8 (DIPR): The four daylong event of the 42nd VK Range Students Union conference hosted at Phushumi village from January 3 to 6 concluded with extravaganza bonfire programme.
In introductory session on January 3, Holuvi Chophy, former president SKK and Auditor General, NSF spoke on the theme ‘Specialization, the essence of the era.’ The inaugural function on January 4 was graced by Khekaho Assumi, Parliamentary secretary Youth Resource and Sports and MTF as the chief guest. In the cultural session, on January 5 Ghovishe Kiba, class-1 govt registered contractor graced the program as the chief guest. Wapang T Longchar, NPF president 28 A/C also graced the valedictory session as the chief guest of honour.
The conference also consisted of spiritual awakening program especially for student delegates where pastor Vitoka Kinny preached on the theme ‘Acclimatize with challenges ahead.’ The final day also consisted of seminar on the theme ‘self reliance on Agro based Economy.’ The experts for the topic discussion, Dr. Visakho Shunyu, SMS Genetics and Plant breeding, KVK NU Lumami. Naro Anichari, Program Asst. Home science, KVK NU Lumami and Kakuho Assumi, GB and National award holder for coffee plantation were the experts for the seminar.
Izheto Students Union led the praise and worship during the conference. The extravaganza night also witnessed couple show as the main event where Niku Yeptho of VK TSU and Inapu Chishi of Maromi LSU were crowned as Miss and Mr VK RSU 2018 respectively. Sastami Students Union emerged as the overall champion and Izheto Students Union emerged as the runners up while Litta New Students Union were awarded the best disciplined unit for 2018.
