Imphal, September 12 (NNN): Five PLA cadres have been reportedly killed in an ambush Tuesday by the NSCN (IM). The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is a Manipur valley based outfit. However, conflicting reports continued to spread till the filing of this report. According to NSCN (IM) sources, five PLA cadres were killed in an ambush by the NSCN (IM) at Makan village under Kamjong district bordering Myanmar in the wee hours of Tuesday. The sources further said that four arms, 9 IEDs and a remote control were recovered from the spot. The NSCN (IM) sources said that a good number of PLA cadres entered Kamjong area from Myanmar few days ago to attack the NSCN (IM). The recovered weapons are in the custody of the NSCN (IM), the sources added. They also claimed that PLA and its allies have been planting explosives in the border areas as part of a strategy to dominate them. However, no official confirmation of the report could be obtained.
