Altogether, 517500 beneficiaries have been enrolled under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS) in Nagaland. In this, senior citizens who are BPL and are 60-79 years of age are given a monthly pension of Rs. 200 per month, according to Nagaland Economic Survey 2021-2022 tabled by Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Nagaland at the recently concluded 11th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) here.
Senior citizens who are BPL and are 80 years and above are given a monthly pension of Rs 500 per month. A total of 5650 beneficiaries are enrolled under this scheme.
Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme
Under this scheme, deserving BPL widows of 40-59 years of age are provided with pension at Rs. 300 per month. A total of 4464 beneficiaries are enrolled under this scheme.
Indira Gandhi National Disability Scheme
In this, deserving BPL persons with severed multiple disabilities in the age group of 18-59 years are provided with pension of Rs. 500 per month. A total of 1276 beneficiaries are enrolled under this scheme
National Family Benefit Scheme
In the event of death (Natural or accidental) of the primary bread earner of families living below the poverty line, the dependent families are assisted with a one –time financial assistance of Rs 20,000.
During 2020-2021, 535 beneficiaries were provided a one-time financial assistance under this scheme.
