Kohima, December 28 (MExN): The four-day long 52nd Kandinu Student's Union (KSU) Sports Meet under the theme "Amelioration" commenced Wednesday with Wanthang Wanth Rengma, Director of Geology & Mining as the chief guest. In his address, Wanth stated that Kandi students are the hope and glory of a brighter future for the Kandi people.
Calling upon them to think globally and act locally, he said nothing can substitute hard work and whoever has a habit of hard work can succeed in one way or other.
“Today, we need good leaders in the society, church and politics for progress and prosperity,” he said while appealing Kandi students to have a competitive mind. He also called upon them to adopt the forefathers’ life of simplicity, honesty and hard working.
Wanth further challenged them to be respectable citizens and live a disciplined life and also strive to become visionary leader who can guide and lead our people.
Short speech was also delivered by Rengma Selo Zi president Kenneth Kath.
The inaugural function was chaired by Niwale Apon while welcome address was delivered by PSU president Senpenlo Kath.
KSU Games & Sports Secretary Nonsenlo Kath administered oath to the participants while vote of thanks was proposed by women coordinator Siden Kath.
