Mokokchung, September 8 (MExN): Due to a lightning strike, 66KV Mokokchung-Tuli Transmission Line near Changtongya has snapped, thereby disrupting power supply to Mon and Longleng District and also Changtongya and Tuli area under Mokokchung District. This was informed in a press release today from Er. Shilu, SDO (Transmission), Mokokchung Transmission Department. The Deptartment stated that it is working on a “war footing” to restore power supply at the earliest. Further, the press release informed that the restoration period is being prolonged due to long span of the conductor (about 900 metre).
