Dimapur, January 27 (MExN): Borlengri Knights CC and Big Shots CC secured their entry into the quarterfinals at the ongoing 6th Unity Cup at local round, Chümoukedima with a wins over New Wave United CC and Vikings Sporting Club respectively on Wednesday.
Solid batting performances from Bishnu (111) who scored the first century in the ongoing tournament and finishing touches from Sanjay (59) and Vishal (54) ensured a mammoth 283/4 for the Borlengri Knights. Sanjay also became the first batsman to score a half century in 14 balls in Unity Cup history.
Chasing a daunting total, New Wave United CC were bundled out for 124 in the 18th over, handing Borlengri a 159-run win.
In the second match, Big Shots CC batted first and amassed 227 runs in 20 overs, with Suraj as the highest scorer (98).
Vikings Sporting Club fell short of 127 runs and managed only 100 runs in 20 overs with a loss of 8 wickets. Suraj was adjudged man of the match.
