Kohima, September 1 (MExN): The Gandhi Shilp Bazar (District), an exhibition-cum-sale of handloom and handicraft products, was inaugurated at the State Academy Hall Compound near PHQ Junction, PR Hill, Kohima, on September 1.
The exhibition was inaugurated by T Lemnonwangsha, Additional Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, in the presence of officials from the Handicrafts Service Centre (HSC), Kohima, and the implementing agency.
Organised by the Nagaland Women Vocational Training Institute (NWVTI) and sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the exhibition will continue till September 7.
Around 40 participants from Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Meghalaya are showcasing a variety of handloom and handicraft products at the bazar.
The organisers said the exhibition aims to provide a platform to promote traditional craftsmanship and support local artisans.
The NWVTI, the implementing agency, also expressed gratitude to the HSC, Kohima, for its support in organising the event.
In a press release, the Institute has invited public to visit the exhibition and support the participating artisans.
