71 new COVID cases, 3 more deaths in Nagaland

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): Nagaland continued to registered more recoveries than fresh COVID-19 cases for the sixth consecutive day on Monday. However, the State’s COVID death toll continued to increase as three more deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, the state reported 71 new cases out of which 38 were from Kohima, 23 from Dimapur, six from Mokokchung, two from Wokha, while Mon and Tuensang reported one case each. 

In terms of case detection, 63 were from self tests and random testing, six were returnees or travellers, while one armed forces/security personnel and one frontline worker also tested positive.

Three more deaths were reported from Kohima (2) and Dimapur (1), taking the COVID death toll to 742.

On the other hand, a total of 73 patients recuperated from the disease on Monday, taking the tally of recoveries to 32,041.

As on Monday, Nagaland had a cumulative tally of 34, 927 infections out of which 691 were active cases.
