Kohima, October 2 (MExN): As part of Government of India’s ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ (SHS) campaign from September 15 to October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti), 78 Battalion CRPF Zubza organized cleanliness drive at unit HQ and various places of Sechü Zubza village under the leadership of Neeraj Yadav, Commandant.
The campaign was launched on September 15 by cleaning the surrounding areas and road sides of Sechü Zubza. Fogging was done across Sechü Zubza village on September 17 and 18, while the CRPF team also cleaned drainages and enlightened the villagers on the importance of waste disposal and clean surrounding on September 25, a press release stated.
On September 27, a special cleanliness drive was organized at Primary Health Centre, Sechü Zubza village and surrounding areas along with the PHC staff. Unwanted long grasses were cut and fogging was done in the entire area, it was informed.
On September 29, the CRPF team visited Government Primary School at Sechü Zubza village and cleaned the school building & surrounding areas. Fogging was also done in the school premises. The students were made aware about the government’s aim to make India clean by 2019 as a tribute to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign culminated on October 2 at Unit HQ by paying rich tributes to the father of the nation on his birth anniversary followed by taking pledge for maintaining cleanliness
To ensure better hygiene and sanitation in the camp and to augment the existing basic amenities, five more toilets and one wash basin with facility of running water constructed on self-help basis was dedicated for the use of unit personnel on the occasion by the unit Commandant.
