7th Hornbill Darts Masters 2025 concludes; West Bengal players dominate

The 7th Hornbill Darts Masters 2025, held as part of the 26th Hornbill Festival, concluded on December 7 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma. The three-day event, organised by Fun Tree Crew (FTC) under the aegis of the Indian Darts Council (IDC), witnessed high-intensity competition, national-level participation and strong display of sportsmanship.

In the FTC Open Singles category, Ankit Goenka of West Bengal clinched the title, taking home Rs 50,000. Mohan Kumar Goel, also from West Bengal, finished runner-up and received Rs 30,000. Joint third-place winners Vikehelie Suohu (Nagaland) and Vikash Jhajharia (West Bengal) were awarded Rs 10,000 each.

Joint fifth-place finishers Kezhaletuo Semou (Nagaland), Kikruneizo Zatsu (Nagaland), Viral Mehta (West Bengal) and Shailender Dixit (Mumbai) received Rs 2,500 each.

In the IDC National Ranking (Men’s Singles), Ankit Goenka secured first position and was awarded Rs 10,000. Shailender Dixit (Maharashtra) came second with Rs 5,000, while joint third-place winners Vidhul Goenka and Mohan Kumar Goel, both from West Bengal, received Rs 3,000 each.

In the Draw Doubles event, the team of Harsh Dalmiya (West Bengal) and Kekhrieselie Pienyü emerged champions, winning Rs 10,000. Runners-up Vikehelie Suohu and Viyhodelie Rame received Rs 6,000.

Joint third-place finishers Ankit Goenka (West Bengal) with Ashim Upadhyay (Assam), and the duo of Pushan Sen and Vidhul Goenka (West Bengal), took home Rs 3,000 each.

In the team event, Excalibur (West Bengal) took the championship title and earned Rs 1 lakh. The team comprised Viral Mehta, Harsh Dalmiya, Rahul Barman and Kezhabu Suohu. Dartknight (West Bengal) finished runners-up, receiving Rs 52,000. The team included Tamim, Chirag Daga, Vikuovolie Keyho and Kori.

Joint third-place team winners FLY (Dimapur), consisting of Ankit Goenka, Mahi Bosmia, Simon Angami and Viboto H Swu, and Predators (Kohima), represented by Vikehelie Suohu, K L Meren, Khriebu Meyase and Vikethozo Kuotsu, received Rs 14,000 each.

Individual awards--Most 180s (Rs 6,000 – shared): Ankit Goenka and Vikehelie Suohu (7 each); Best Leg (Rs 6,000): Vikehelie Suohu (11-darter); Highest Checkout (Rs 6,000 – shared): Viral Mehta and Kori.

A total of 48 participants from Maharashtra, Assam, West Bengal and host state Nagaland competed in the tournament.

Piyush Bosmia, Joint Secretary of the Indian Darts Council, served as the chief technical official, overseeing live scoring, online streaming, digital draw brackets and player auction systems.

The tournament was supported by the Government of Nagaland, Tourism Department, Task Force for Music & Arts and the Indian Darts Council. Event partners included Cosmos Darts, Winmau, 2K Hotel, HIREATAB, Zumvu Printex, Nagaland Darts Association, Dynamic School of Darts, Team One Nagaland, Phezhu Youth Organisation, LG Library Enterprise, Café Dazzle, Crystal Network, Dart Connect, Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association and Jung Jathy Creatif.
