
Mon, April 1 (MExN): The District Health Society conducted an RCH camp (Reproductive & Child Health) at Naginimora Town on March 30. A total of 245 patients including 18 Ante Natal Cases, 18 ophthalmic (eye) cases attended the camp. The medical officer incharge of child cases, Dr. Yanang Konyak inferred from the child OPD cases of that day that 85% of the children suffered from respiratory infection which could be done away with to a great extent by repairing the roads, thereby reducing the dust concentration in this coal mining town of Naginimora.
The camp was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. U. K. Konyak, DPM Mon, Bonnie Konyak, five Medical Officers, MMU team and other DPMU and CMO staff of Mon District. The Chief Medical Officer of Mon called upon the people of Naginimora to make the best of the facilities made available through the department and assured the gathered public all possible aid with the cooperation of the community.
Health Center Management Committee Chairman of Naginimora PHC, Humpong Konyak thanked the CMO, Mon for organizing the programme and also the Medical Officers for taking time off from the busy schedule to offer their services to the people of Naginimora. He also requested the Department to see to the posting of a Medical Officer for Naginimora PHC at the earliest possible time to benefit the people of the town.
The medical camp was then officially opened with a word of prayer by Pastor of Konyak Baptist Church Naginimora, Nokpho Konyak. The RCH Camp was held at the ADC Guest House, Naginimora Town.
