98 take part in ‘Technology Injection Programme’

Dimapur, March 4 (MExN): The Indian Council of Agricultural Research - National Research Centre on Mithun (ICAR-NRC on Mithun) organized a ‘Technology Injection Programme’ in Konsakhul village, Kangpokpi district on March 4.
The programme was held in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Senapati under the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP).
The organizers informed that the inaugural session was followed by presentation by scientists of ICAR-NRC on Mithun, covering important topics related to scientific mithun rearing and management.
The presentation highlighted the importance of adopting scientific mithun husbandry, including care and management of young calves and preventive measures for control of common diseases of mithun.
An interactive session between the farmers and the scientists was also held, during which the farmers were made aware of the need for regular vaccination, supplementation of mineral mixture, use of good bulls and conservation of the bigger bulls for breeding purpose, diversified use of mithun as a source of meat, milk and leather.
The programme was attended by Dr Laishram Sunitibala Devi, Scientist (LPM) and Dr Vivek Joshi, Scientist (Vety Medicine) from ICAR-NRC on Mithun.
The vote of thanks was given by Dr N Mohindro Singh, SMS, KVK, Senapati. 98 farmers from Konsakhul and Haipi village of Kangpokpi district participated in the programme, according to the organisers.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Sapunii Stephen Hanah, Scientist and In-charge TSP, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Nagaland.
