Children gathered at PenThrill Publication House (PTPH) Kohima for a story telling session on September 8 marking the International Literacy Day. The session was conducted by Pratham Books, a leading nonprofit organization, under its annual 'One Day, One Story’ initiative. Now on its eighth year, the initiative is aimed at bringing story books to children across India. This year, the children had two titles to choose from- 'Gappu Can't Dance’ written by Menaka Raman and illustrated by Krishna Chandan, and 'The Weightlifting Princess' written by Sowmya Rajendran and illustrated by Debasmita Dasgupta. ‘The Weightlifting Princess' was read to the children and they also enacted scenes from the book.
