AAP Nagaland fires salvos at warring NPF camps

Dimapur, September 21 (MExN): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Nagaland Unit today dismissed the ongoing internal tussles in the Naga People’s Front (NPF) as a political drama created intentionally to misguide the people of Nagaland.   “This is a political drama intentionally done by the corrupted politicians to misguide the innocent Nagas of Nagaland who has been suffering in the hands of these hypocrites for the last fifteen years of NPF misrule,” AAP Nagaland said in a press statement from its State Convener Dr. S Amos Lkr.

It also expressed surprise to the claim made by the former Chief Minister and the present Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Neiphiu Rio, who said that more “than 40, OOO ( forty thousand ) people attended the convention” organised by the NPF under his tutelage at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur on September 20.

Comparing Rio’s claim with those made by Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, from the other NPF camp, who alleged that “80% of the people who attended the rally of the rival group convention were non locals with no voting rights from the adjoining areas of Assam,” AAP Nagaland said, “Now the question arises whether this people who attended the rally will be able to vote for NPF led by Rio in the coming Nagaland General Assembly Election.”

The AAP Nagaland also questioned the intention of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, who told the consultative meeting at the NPF Central office Kohima on September 20 that, “If the provoke us too far, we may be compelled to open the corruption files openly”.

Shürhozelie had further accused Rio and the present Chief Minister TR Zeliang of “creating liabilities worth thousands of crores of rupees… through enhancement of contract works by 10-15 times” than the actual rate during their reign as Chief Ministers. He also alleged that “Nagas were suffering” as Rio has created liabilities of Rs. 1500 crores and another Rs.500 crores by TR Zeliang, totalling Rs.2000 crores.

“As the conscious keeper and President of undivided NPF party for the last 15 years, why was the wise man (Dr. Shürhozelie) was keeping mum when robbery was committed under his nose,” AAP Nagaland questioned Shürhozelie.

“Why he is coming up with these revelations at this crucial juncture when Nagas suffered for 15 years in the hands of these two shameless money giants according to him,” it added.

AAP Nagaland further stated that if Shürhozelie “is true to himself”, he should “cooperate and coordinate with the CBI investigation which has recently started on PDS multi-crore scam of Nagaland against his former Chief Minister and present Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio and his defacto Chief Minister – one Vinay Kumar Sethi alias notorious Tinku.”

The State Unit further said that the multi-crore scam “which was conducted in the name of non-existing locals” will not lead to its conclusion, “unless and until the kingpin, notorious smugglers of essential commodity Tinku Sethi is not pinned down by investigating agencies.”

“Dr. Shurhozelie, as a conscious keeper of the NPF party, must cooperate and coordinate with the investigating agencies so that Nagas of Nagaland will get rid of this type of devilish forces,” it added.

If Shürhozelie led NPF stand for safeguarding the interest of the Nagas and they are true to their words, as a President of the Party, he should "immediately file a PIL in the court against Tinku Sethi,” the main conspirator,” AAP Nagaland taunted.

“This will help the agencies to investigate Tinku Sethi to reach to its conclusion to solve multi crores P.D.S scam in Nagaland,” it pointed out.

It further alleged that "Tinku Sethi was also involved in a murder case way back in the year April 1997" but he was not arrested till date despite the arrest warrant issued against him on 19 February 2008 by Nagaland Police due to his “association with the Political bosses of NPF.”
