Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Aghunaqa Area Students' Union (AASU) has extended support to All Sumi Students Union (SKK) mission to ban proxy and substitute teachers in every school. Keeping aside all those lacking amenities AASU demanded the first priority of the teachers to be responsible while discharging their duties and department to provide textbook at the earliest.
Meanwhile, as a part of union social responsibility and student’s welfare, AASU conducted its first phase school tours from March 29 to 31 and interacted with their respective SMC and Teacher-in-Charge.
The Union, in a press release issued by its president H. Pito Yeptho and vice president Vinoto Khulu lamented on the irregularities and absence of teachers and lacks punctuality where the students are left without quality education and proper guidance.
Besides lacking many basic amenities, the Union noted that students are left without text book where their academic career had already started and barely a few weeks left for their mid-term examination which effect and hamper their studies.
It asked the concerned department that whether ‘Right to Education Act’ is meant for students without textbook. The student had no option to rely on but left on their own, where the right to education was meant only for name and not for implementation.
The AASU also added that the Union witnessed the shortage of teachers in Government Primary Schools and subject teachers in Government Middle Schools within its jurisdiction and also asked the concern department not to entertain the transferring of teachers with post without the knowledge of school management authority.
