Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): The Aghunato Areami Union Dimapur (AAUD) held its 4th general session at Aqua Mellow Park, Naga United Village Dimapur on November 9 with Pukayi Sumi, Advisor to CM Nagaland, as the special guest.
Pukhayi in his address lauded AAUD for its various contribution towards the service of the people.
“I believe that the purpose of this gathering is to let God shower his blessing to all Aghunato area residing at Dimapur,” Sumi said.
The geographically distinct feature of Aghunato is it is located between two rivers Tsutha and Tizu, and the first Indo-Naga battle was fought here, as such Aghunato is a historical place in Naga history, stated Pukhayi added.
Due to the hard work and dedication of our forefathers, Pukhayi said that God has blessed us, and that “we should carry forward the legacy of our forefathers.”
A special number was presented by Vilivi Murrumi, Nagaland Conservatory Of Music (NCM). Presidential speech was delivered by President AAUD Akashe Zhimomi.
Hukiye Yeptho, Vice President conducted discussion hour, while entertainment was presented by Tokhuyi Yepthomi.
The new team of office bearers was also elected for the term 2020-2022 with Akashe Zhimomi as Chairman, Hukiye K Yepthomi and Hokuto Tissica as Vice Chairman, Otoka H Yeptho as Secretary, Inakhu Awomi and Ato I Yeptho as joint Secretary, Vihoshe Yepthomi Organising Secretary, Khekato Yeptho and Honito Kiho as Cultural Secretary, Mulato Katty and Inakhu Yeptho as Information Secretary, Kakheto Yepthomi as Treasurer, Hokali Hoshika, Thoshili Vihuto, Alivi Hokato and Boholi Hutoi as Women Co-ordinator and Tohevi Awomi Ikishe Village as banker.
Dedicatory prayer for the newly elected office bearers was pronounced by Rev Shikuho Zhimomi, Secretary, Mission Department WSBAK.
Invocation was offered by Lhokishe Achumi, Pastor Eralibill Baptist Church and vote of thanks was delivered by Kakheto Yepthomi Vice Chairman, AAUD.
