In Nagaland, the scheme of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has a target of 2.23 lakh households that were identified through SECC - 2011 of which 98, 435 families (42%) have been covered with a at least 1 e-Card and more than Rs 2.63 lakh of individual e-Cards have been generated to eligible beneficiaries.
This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2021-2022 of Health & Family Welfare department, Nagaland, which was tabled in the recently concluded 11th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) here.
There are 100 empanelled hospitals in the state which includes GoI, private and public hospital from where eligible beneficiaries can avail services. During the financial year 2021-22 (from April 2021- January 2022), 4,441 free hospital admissions worth Rs 8.67 crore have been availed by eligible beneficiaries from the state, the Report stated.
The report stated that the number of free hospital admissions stands Rs 4, 549 and free hospitals claims amount at 8,92,73, 929.
The report stated that AB-PMJAY is the world largest government funded healthcare scheme.
It was launched on September 23, 2018.
It entrails to provide free health insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for hospitalized care to the under- privileged section of the society. The scheme aims to ensure that all the citizens of India receive healthcare services by making them accessible, cashless and paperless.
