ACAUT invites CM and cabinet to Aug 25 rally

Rally to begin at 3:30pm at Super Market, Dmp

Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): ACAUT Nagaland has invited the Chief Minister of Nagaland and his council of ministers to speak at its upcoming rally on August 25.

A press release from the ACAUT media cell asked the CM to “lay down a road map for combating corruption including promise to stop the now ongoing exercise of withdrawal of funds from the Finance Department for vague/suspicious projects running into thousands of Crores of rupees.”

The anti corruption body today stated that in Nagaland State’s context, “apart from the siphoning of funds meant for roads, bridges and diversion of PDS items, etc.,” the word corruption includes the “non-payment of teacher salaries for months, backdoor appointments, wastage of public funds in buying luxury vehicles, ‘unclean’ general elections, and most importantly, corruption in the form of factionalism which has divided the Naga movement.”

The ACAUT has appealed to the people of Nagaland to attend the rally in “thousands and lakhs” and “preferably in traditional attire.” The rally will begin at 3.30 pm at Super Market, Dimapur. The estimated duration of the rally is three hours. All participants have been requested to come to the venue with a candle.
