
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): Various organizations today declared their support to the ACAUT rally scheduled for August 25 at Super Market, Dimapur and appealed for participation.
Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO), the apex body of Chakhroma, in its Executive Body meeting on August 23 reaffirmed the organisation’s previous resolution to support any movement against corruption and injustice in Nagaland. In this light, CPO in a press release urged every citizen of Dimapur district to participate in the ACAUT rally “in order to register our resentment against corruption and injustice, be it by State government or any other organisation(s) exploiting our society.”
The Dimapur District Citizens' Forum (DDCF) also urged all the citizens of Dimapur in particular and Nagaland in general to think about the situations in present Nagaland and imagine “in what situation we would be if we live in a land free of corruption.” Therefore, the Forum in a press release appealed to one and all to support and attend the rally for a good cause.
Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) also called upon all the councils, colony leaders, women, youths and public of urban area as well as the neighboring villages to attend the ACAUT rally on August 25. “The rally will be The Voice of Nagas against corruption. Hence, it is important that every Naga public participate,” it added in a statement. The Federation urged all the colonies and villages to participate in full strength. “Every abled men and women from 15 to 90 years should be there to be part of the historic moment,” it said, while urging the “non Naga brothers and sisters,” especially under the ward 17 & 19 area, to participate. DUCCF also requested every car and two wheeler owners to carry full passengers. “Those who do not participate will have no moral right to complain against bad roads, collapsed bridges, etc. So let us join hands to change Nagaland,” the statement added.
In a separate press release, the joint council of Dubagaon, Ekarani Pathar, Eralibill, Hollohon and Aoyimti Villages (DEEHA) expressed solidarity towards the rally and further directed all the GBs, VCCs, VCMs and general public within DEEHA jurisdiction to actively participate in the same.
