Accusing president (Gen. Retd) Khole Konyak insidious: GPRN/NSCN

The accusation labelled against President and Chairman of the GPRN/NSCN Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak is a telltale sign of a group of men who have fallen from grace and have resorted to doing the only option left for them: character assassinate Gen. Retd  Khole Konyak, President of the People’s Republic of Nagaland. These few junior chameleons who hang on to S.S Khaplang, even after participating in the impeachment and expulsion from both the government and party on 7th June 2011, continue to indulge in smear campaign against the leader who  groomed them all and whose life is an epitome of loyalty, truth, justice and comradeship.

The strange existence in the thick jungles has forced S.S Khaplang to shut himself off from the Naga political issue. Few agitated and apprehensive individuals stationed at Mon town continue to distort history, issue orders, bestow ranks on themselves and plant anti-reconciliatory policies, which even Khaplang himself, would admonish and disapprove of. In short, Wangtin Konyak and friends have betrayed both Gen. Khole Konyak and S.S Khaplang in pursuit of their own elevated positions and status. Gen. (Retd) Khole is with the Naga people in flesh and spirit. He is the participant of the Highest Level Summit of Naga political parties both in 2010 and 2011. He has clearly advised other Naga leaders to seek a common platform to enable future generation Nagas live in freedom and peace. He is accessible to all peace loving Nagas then and now. Naga history in the last 50 years has ran its course before his very own eyes. A freedom fighter, a warrior both in times of war and peace, Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak, who has walked through many tumultuous decades unscathed and unaccused of any wrong doing can never be labelled a merciless killer. And surely not by boys who ran away from him seven months earlier in June 2011. Cowardice and brutality belongs to those who are pointing fingers at him. GPRN/NSCN authorities in a meeting at Tobu town recently have informed the Konyak people to be fully aware of the destructive elements at work particularly in Konyak Region.

Wangtin Konyak has mastered the art of distorting facts through the so-called MIP and unless prompt correction is made, Naga history will be the loser. During the time of NNC, Wangtin Konyak’s father slaughtered four National workers at Phoktong Village and presented the severed heads to Angh of Mon while their Arms and Ammunitions was submitted to the Indian Authorities. The names of the slain national workers are: Late Enso of Showa Village, Late Bethok of Otinos village, Late Jaithing of Shangnyu Village and Late Athi of Zakho Village. The NNC sent it representatives namely, Itomang Laoba, Mankhao and another Ao national worker to meet the Angh of Mon and advised him to seek apology from the NNC but he declined and not only that the Angh’s wife insulted the National workers by showing the battered skulls of the four National workers hung high up at his home. Such insult to the NNC was unacceptable and the highest NNC authority declared capital punishment on the Angh. Wangtin’s father is also responsible for the assassination attempt on former minister Noke which claimed the life of his dear son. A time has come for the Konyak public as well as the Naga people to know who Wangtin konyak and his friends are. If Wangtin was a national worker why did the GOI in July 2010, awarded Wangtin Konyak with “GOOD CITIZEN OF INDIA AWARD” which he accepted gleefully? Wangtin Konyak is feeding the GOI with all information that they need to counter the Naga political struggle.

The untimely deaths Late 2nd Lt. Yangkem, Late Tingran, Late Khote and Late Sheilong, Vice Chairman, Konyak Region were orchestrated when certain overground Konyak leaders placed an ultimatum before the Naga government  that if the four individuals were not granted capital punishment for their crimes, Konyak general public will not co-operate with the Naga government. The support of the general public was restored but at a cost of precious lives.

The allegation that President (Gen. Retd) Khole Konyak was responsible for the deaths of many Tangkhul National workers in the 1988 crisis is a blatant distortion of history. In fact under the then C-in-C Khole’s command, not a single Tangkhul national worker was killed in Konyak region. Other responsible authorities of the time are still alive and they know it. Perhaps Khaplang boys will hold President Gen. (Retd) Khole Konyak responsible if there arise a conflict between India and Burma in the near future.

Accusing Gen (Retd) Khole Konyak, GPRN/NSCN president, of stealing fifty 303 rifles is too foolish to even think of. Granting thirty days to Gen (Retd) Khole to submit the supposedly stolen rifles must be considered as the most ridiculous demand in many many years among the Nagas. GPRN/NSCN advises the Khaplang members to ask the GHQ commander of the time and the details. It has become a habit for Khaplang boys to threaten family members of National workers and shifting responsibility to children. This is a new trend of negative revolution. It has crossed all revolutionary ethics and GPRN/NSCN shall duly take note. Does the so called MIP of Khaplang believe that all relatives and children of Khaplang boys are manufactured from factories with indestructible materials and only relatives and children of GPRN/NSCN born of mortal mothers? It is wise not to invite a cursed future.

Naga Reconciliation process will obviously annoy those who have no courage to address the common future. Negative policies will continue but Naga future generations must hope and believe in a common future with or without the some unruly youngsters.

MIP,
GPRN/NSCN
