Wokha, May 18 (MExN): The ‘All Commercial Vehicles Association’ Wokha popularly known as ACVA commemorated its second anniversary on May 17 by taking a day off by halting all its regular activities and by assembling at the public ground Wokha.
Members of ACVA include the auto rickshaw union, truck union, mini truck, tata mobile union, sumo union, ANTA Wokha unit and the van union. The members had their vehicles paraded through the stretch of Wokha town demonstrating their oneness.
Culminating the parade all the members gathered again at the public ground and started their annual general meeting was lead by its president Bankathung Ezung.
The Association discussed and passed the following resolutions:
• If any of the members, if found paying tax to any of the NPGs, the particular person will be responsible for all the commercial vehicles in Wokha district. • The general body reaffirmed in toto the standing resolution passed during the last general meeting of “One Govt. One Tax.”
• Regarding yearly taxation or forceful collection to any of the commercial vehicles, the ACVA action committee shall be compelled to take necessary action.
• Either the vehicle owners or the drivers will not indulge in carrying any intoxicants or in rash driving and violation of the resolution the ACVA shall not be responsible of any eventuality whatsoever the case shall be.
• Carrying of narcotics or alcohol will be totally prohibited. Surprise checking will be conducted as and when the situation demands and if any member (driver/ owner) is found engaging in Narcotic or Alcohol (transferring/ consuming; during duty) a very stern action shall be taken to the defaulter.
• The general members approved the ACVA’s logo and motto.
The meeting was chaired by its president Bankathung Ezung and invocation prayer pronounced by its advisor Ropen Shitiri. After a self introduction of its members time was given to the general body. Very special numbers were also presented by Chenithung Kithan and Temjen Ao after which a grand feast was given to all the members present.
