Kohima, November 30 (MExN): In continuation with the eviction drive carried out along the National Highway-29 on November 26 and 27, the Kohima District Administration along with Police and KMC on November 30 carried out an additional eviction drive along the highway starting from Classic Island towards Kisama.
A DIPR report stated that the District Administration had earlier issued a seven day notice to remove all the obstruction materials along the roadside/highway in view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival celebration. However it has observed that after the two-day eviction drive, some obstructions were still found lying unattended along the roadside therefore the district administration had to carry out the drive again.
During the drive bamboo, temporary market sheds on the roadside and water pipelines still hanging across the road were removed. The eviction drive was carried out to ease the flow of traffic and pedestrian movement along the road/highway.
