Aghunato, May 27 (MExN): MLA and Advisor G Ikuto Zhimomi on Wednesday convened a consultative meeting with Kukami (GBs) of the Aghunato area, from Nihoshe to Khumishi village.

The meeting, organised by the Aghunato Area Kukami Kuqhakulu, was also attended by Kukami (GBs) from the Asuto area and Tizu Island.
Speaking on the upcoming census exercise, Zhimomi urged village leaders to look beyond political lines and prioritise development and the upliftment of the Aghunato area.

During the discussion, the Advisor asked the GBs whether there were any resolutions passed by the Aghunato area GBs that had not been followed or accepted either by him or by former MLAs.

He assured the gathering that any resolution passed unanimously by the GBs would be accepted and acted upon.

The meeting provided a platform for consultation between the Advisor and village representatives, with participants raising local concerns and development priorities.

Zhimomi acknowledged the presence and contributions of Kukami (GBs) from the neighbouring Asuto area and Tizu Island and reiterated his commitment to work collaboratively with community leaders for the welfare of Aghunato.

According to the statement, the people of Aghunato, through their MLA and Advisor, expressed readiness to cooperate with the present government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio for the all-round development of the area.

The Advisor also appealed for public support to government programmes and urged peaceful and disturbance-free participation to ensure speedy and sustainable progress.
