Advisor Temjenmenba inaugurates boys hostels in 3 polytechnics

KOHIMA, JULY 25 (MExN): Temjenmenba, Advisor to the Chief Minister for the Transport & Technical Education Department, inaugurated three boys' hostels at Government Polytechnic Kohima (GPK), Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA), and Government Polytechnic Tsunazho Chetheba Phek (GPTCP) on July 25.

The inauguration was conducted virtually from the Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima, in the presence of the Director of Technical Education, officers, principals, and faculty members of the department.

The hostels at GPK and KPA were funded by CAFES-AICTE, while the hostel at GPTCP was funded by the state government. Each hostel has a capacity of 40 beds, providing a conducive study environment for students by alleviating accommodation and transit issues, thereby allowing them to focus on their academic careers.

In his speech, Temjenmenba expressed his gratitude to the funding agencies and the state government for their support in ensuring that students' academic progress is not hindered by the lack of proper residential facilities in the polytechnics. He emphasized the importance of the faculty's role in delivering skill education to students and helping them maximize the benefits of the provisions made available by both the central and state governments. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that similar facilities will be provided in the future.

Additionally, he acknowledged the cooperation of the contractors who enabled the inauguration of the hostels despite pending bills from the government. He thanked them for their collaboration with the department in making this milestone possible.
