In a series of meetings in Kolkata, Advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland, Abu Metha met with the Consul General of Germany, Kolkata, Manfred Auster and officials from the US Consulate General Kolkata including Sonia Laul, Tinku Roy & Sangita Chanda. He was accompanied by Advisor to Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), Theja Meru.
During these meetings, the Chief Minister’s recent announcements during the budget session were shared with the foreign diplomats. The advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Abu Metha related to The Morung Express that he highlighted the initiatives of the state government in the fields of tourism, arts, culture, music and sports while exuding hope for future collaborations in new policies like Hornbill Tour, sports collaborations and cultural exchanges.
Both the office of the US Consulate and the German Consul General appreciated the programmes of the Hornbill Festival and also expressed positive desire to further enhance collaborations and partnerships in future with Nagaland and the region.
“We discussed matters related to building friendships, strengthening bilateral ties, working on collaborative and creating opportunities,” Metha further highlighted. He also thanked them for their visits to Nagaland and also for their positive participation during the last edition of Hornbill Festival.
Earlier, he also tweeted about the meetings, one of which read- “Wonderful to meet up again with Mr. Manfred Auster, German Counsel General. Building friendships, strengthening collaborations, forging partnerships & creating opportunities continues to be the conversation. Thank you for your hospitality.”
In response to the tweet, the German Counsel General also wrote: “My pleasure entirely. Outreach to the Seven Sisters and #Nagaland in particular remains important and fascinating part of our mandate.”
