Along with the rest of the world, the Eco Club members of Agape School, Kiphire today celebrated World Ozone Day with the theme ‘Caring for life under the sun’ where students from age 13-16 participated in the painting and slogan competition.
Addressing the students, Kitoka Naga, teacher in charge of Eco Club said, “all of us should take care of the environment because we get everything from it and if we don’t take care of it, we are destructing ourselves.” He asked the students not only to take part but also to act on it.
He also encouraged the students to help protect the earth from ozone depletion by walking or using cycles rather than using vehicles which produce lot of carbon which leads to ozone depletion.
Among the participants in the school level, Niloli, Lita and Chumlise were declared first second and third respectively in painting competition. In the slogan competition, Yangpise, Llitsazi and Ika were declared first, second and third respectively.
