
Mon, August 13 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Independence Day celebration in Mon Headquarters, various agencies/departments conducted social work at their respective junctions, roads and areas allotted to them under the mission “I Love My Mon Town” (ILMMT) on August 13.
The junctions, roads and areas adopted by various agencies and departments of Mon under the mission ILMMT are: Petro Pump Junction area by NAPC; District Sports Complex by District Administration and Beautification & Aesthetic Committee; New Site Junction by Government Higher Secondary School & Local Area Business Community; Forest Junction by Forest Department; DCO Junction to Y Junction by Assam Rifles & Local Area Business Community; Daily Market Area including Circular Road up to PWD Store/DCO Office/SBI Junction by Business Community of Bazar Area; Supply Junction to NM Road Junction by School Education Department & Local Area Business Community; Private Bus Station including Police Point by Private Bus & Taxi Association and Local Area Business Community; Helipad & Road up to KBCM Church Gate by DEF Mon; NST Station Area by KBCM Youth; Fire Brigade Junction by F&ES & Local Area Business Community; Monolith & Helipad Junction by the Officer’s Club; District Hospital Area by District Hospital, Mon; NST Colony Junction by RD & Local Area Business Community; Chingai Ward Junction by Industries Department & Local Area Business Community; Santham Area - Tapi Junction by Agri. & Allied Department and Wangkhao Junction by Wangkhao Government College.
The Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Training Institution, Mon too participated in the cleanliness drive by cleaning and picking up waste along the road side from DC’s residence to the Local Ground.
Ever since the ILMMT was launched, respective committees under ILMMT have been playing a vital role to educate the citizens about the importance of sanitation and to develop a sense of ownership, responsibility and pride of the town by conducting awareness programs in the wards, colonies and educational institutions, through street play, posters, banners, newsletter, organizing weekly cleanliness drive, according to a press release.
