Agri dept inspects clusters under PMKSY

Agriculture department officials during inspection of clusters under PMKSY.

 

Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The department of agriculture has carried out an inspection of clusters under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (O.I) centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) programme which is implementing at Okotso Village under Wokha district on November 28.


It was led by joint director Jocob Yanthan and Medovelie Ladu Deputy Director Agriculture along with agriculture department officials from Wokha.


Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana scheme is a flagship programme of Government of India with an objective to achieve convergences of investment in irrigation sectors at field level.


During the inspection on construction of water harvesting pond at Okotso village, Jocab Yanthan stated that in Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana(O.I),Nagaland has implemented 45 clusters covering all the entire states of Nagaland.


He said water harvesting structural under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana is to support sustainable economy.


He also stated that it is to ensure access to some means of protective irrigation to all the agricultural farmers to produce ‘per drop more crop’ to improve rural economy.


He encouraged the farmers to invest more in farming to enhance and increase agricultural production in the village.


Jocab also urged the beneficiaries farmers to strengthen and maintain the existing harvesting water pond with collective responsibility and cooperation with the department.


Interacting with the villagers, Medovelie  Ladu shared the importance guidelines and details of CSS.


The villagers also acknowledged the department in taking up the initiatives in creating opportunities for the farmers.


Santsu Kithan, District Agriculture Officer Wokha and V.Thorie Deputy District Agriculture officer Wokha along with department officials, village councils and beneficiaries also present during the field inspection of clusters.
