AHRS conducts children centric outreach prog in Longleng

Longleng, March 8 (MExN): The Ayolta Human Resource Society (AHRS), on March 7 & 8, conducted Children Centric Outreach Programme on Science Awareness and Cognitive Science in Longleng. The programme is sponsored by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.

A press release from the society informed that on the first day, the programme was held at  Phom Lempong School, Longleng with Moie, MSc (Zoology), B Ed and Er Honlen (Civil) as the resource persons. Executive Secretary, PBCA Tialemba Phom dedicated the awareness as well as the science exhibition. 

The main aims of the programme were to help the students develop learning skills and interest in science subject and create curiosity among the students through scientific activities, AHRS Co-ordinator Shamla Leinak highlighted.

In her presentation, Moie stressed on the importance of science and how learning can be enhanced through the help of practical and hands-on experience. She also encouraged and engaged the students through various activities and created interest in learning science.



Er Honlen spoke on cognitive science and how to keep learning and acquiring knowledge as well as understanding through “Thought Experiences’ and ‘Senses’.

Different activities including quiz competition and model making competition were also held, followed by the science exhibition. 

The 2nd day was held at Good Shepherd School, Longleng with dedication by Youth Leader, Pongnyak, Police Baptist Church, Longleng. 

On the second day, apart from highlighting the importance of science, Moie stressed on environmental issues and performed various activities to create interest in learning science subject.

Er Honlen also shared on acquiring knowledge and understanding through “Thought Experiences’ and ‘Senses’.
Cash prizes along with certificates and trophies were given for various competitions held on both days.
