
Wokha, February 21 (MExN): AICC Secretary In Charge of Nagaland Christopher Tilak and MP & PCC President S Supongmeren Jamir accompanied by several party leaders including the Working President of NPCC, Khriedi Theunuo met with the officials of Wokha District Congress Committee (DCC) at Congress Bhavan, Wokha on February 19.
The Communications Department, NPCC in a press release stated that they held a wide range of discussions with the party functionaries and supporters, focusing on strengthening the party organization, addressing political challenges and mobilizing grassroots leadership in the district.
Speaking during the event, Tilak emphasised four key aspects of politics: a strong narrative, effective leadership, a robust organization, and active fieldwork. He underscored the need for the party to communicate a strong message to the people of Nagaland and have leaders who can speak effectively.
He also criticised the BJP for “misleading the people and failing to focus on employment and development, and exhorted the party workers present instead to connect with the voters based on the principles of truth and accountability.”
S Supongmeren Jamir stated that capable leaders should be elected, especially among PCC members, as they play a crucial role at the constituency level. He assured that restructuring the party is aimed at reviving Congress in Nagaland and that leadership decisions will be based on capability, adding that while restructuring may cause misunderstandings, no one will be left behind.
Khriedi Theunuo, Working President, NPCC also spoke during the event.
Mokokchung: The AICC Secretary Incharge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak accompanied by MP (Lok Sabha) and PCC President, S Supongmeren Jamir and others visited the District Congress Committee (DCC), Mokokchung on February 20.

Addressing the gathering, the AICC leader welcomed several former NDPP youth leaders, including ex Mokokchung Municipal Council candidate from Sangtemla Ward, Alemtuba Imsong, former Vice President of the NDPP Youth Wing, Tiasunep and Imsuwapang Jamir, former Youth President of Sangtemla Unit from the NDPP during the event.
The MP urged Congress leaders to evaluate their strengths and find suitable roles, batting for dynamic leadership that can speak to the needs and concerns of the people effectively. He criticised the central government's decision to suspend the Free Movement Regime (FMR) along the Indo-Myanmar border terming it as the painful rebalkanisation of the Naga Family.
Khriedi Theünuo, Working President Incharge of Administration Zone 'A', NPCC said that the visit was aimed to assess the party’s progress in the district.
Phek: AICC Secretary incharge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak along with NPCC and DCC Kohima officials arrived in Phek in continuation of the ongoing statewide inter district tour programme.

Tilak stated that Congress has faced many challenges but has survived for over 100 years, and remarked that coming out victorious during the last General Elections in Nagaland despite being in the opposition for more than two decades was possible because of Congress' enduring legacy of progressive and inclusive actions. He underscored the importance of promoting the right narrative, one rooted in the absolute denouncement of the BJP’s divisive ideology.
Rueing the state of utter corruption existing in Nagaland today, Tilak said “the Congress party was the only alternative capable of dismantling this pervasive culture of decadence and ineptitude engineered and championed by the government of the day.”
